Taitung Christian Hospital (TCH) is a district hospital located in Taitung, a city in Eastern Taiwan. In 1964, TCH began its work by offering mobile clinic services in the mountainous areas in Taitung. As of today, it has grown into a general hospital that provides a wide range of clinical and inpatient services, and reaches out to the communities it serves.

In 1961, Dr. Frank Dennis, an American missionary doctor, moved to Taiwan in response to The Evangelical Alliance Mission’s call. In 1964, Dr. Dennis launched the mobile clinic services and evangelical ministry in Taitung County.

TCH is now a hospital that offers high-quality outpatient, inpatient, emergency, and health examination services. With the spirit of “Reaching out to places where there are needs,” TCH has brought medical care, health examination, community services, and the gospel into remote communities and tribal villages. It has evolved into a “mobile hospital” that reaches out and serves the communities. Furthermore, TCH is committed to equipping itself with enhanced capabilities to treat cancer. In 2020, TCH’s Cancer Center was opened, offering various treatments including chemotherapy and radiation therapy. TCH strives to reduce disparities in healthcare, so that the people of Taitung would not need to travel out of town for cancer treatment.

It is TCH’s goal to serve the people of Taitung with increased access to comprehensive, high-quality healthcare services.
